FUAD REVEIZ

PHIL RIPPA
(with the assist from Ed Agner)

First – I provide you with a little glimpse at how things work around here. And this will be funnier than anything I will be able to write about Fuad Reveiz. A conversation Ed and I had…

Rippa: Man - I should do Fuad Reveiz just so I could see how many times I would spell it wrong
Ed: OOOO! I thought about him
Ed: But my folks are always watching his home fixit show when I'm over there
Rippa: WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!
Ed: Oh yeah
Rippa: Okay - I need info on that and I am so writing that one now
Ed: Well here's this
Ed: But it has nothing about his TV show
Rippa: See the TV show has me fascinated now and I want to know if I get it on DirecTV
Ed: Oh yeah
Rippa: And the fact that Jeff Gaylord got drafted in like the third round still makes me giggle
Ed: THE Jeff Gaylord?
Rippa: Unless there were two who went to Missouri
Rippa: Or if the wrestling one stole the football ones ID
Ed: Man, I will never find that show now
Ed: Ooo! Ooo!
Ed: I knew it was on one of those home improvement channels
Rippa: Of course - I have never watched Dyi
Rippa: Oh that’s even better
Ed: Me neither
Rippa: He had to have his house redone
Ed: But my folks watch the heck out of it
Rippa: So many potential photos
Ed: I walked in once and went - FUAD REVEIZ?!?!?!
Ed: And neither Mom nor Dad knew who he was
Rippa: Hehehe
Ed: God damn, Fuad is a busy man
Rippa: God - I think I need to write the Dan McGwire one just because I still can’t get over that Bill didn't know that it was Mark's brother
Ed: WHAT?
Ed: Oh and the name of Fuad's show is Weekend Remodeling
Rippa: Hehehehe
Rippa: Okay - remember when we were talking about who might be the worst brother tandem?
Ed: Right
Rippa: I some how brought up Dan McGwire
Rippa: And Bill had no idea that he was Mark's brother nor that he was drafted that high
Ed: HAH
Ed: God I bet I still have a Dan McGwire draft pick card somewhere
Rippa: Let me know if you do
Ed: God is Dan McGwire not represented on the net at all
Rippa: Mark probably asked that sites remove all references to him
Ed: Hehehehe
Ed: Oh yeah. Accuse him of roiding is OK
Ed: But connecting him to Dan is not
Ed: I am happy that I found the Reveiz show though
Rippa: I am too
Ed: Almost as glad as when I caught the folks watching it
Ed: I still can't believe that Dad didn't know who he was
Ed: OK. This still isn't solving my need for one more person on the ruin list
Rippa: I should save this conversation. It could make up half the write up
Ed: Hehehehe
Ed: Sweet-sweet useless DIY channel
Ed: I pop in on the folks and they're usually asleep in their chairs with that channel on

Yes, we got that excited about a remodeling show. Well and Amy Wynne.

Anyway, Fuad Reveiz was what a kicker should be foreign (being from Colombia) with a funny name that was impossible to spell. He even through in kicker for the Dolphins and Vikings which were basically the Ellis Islands for kickers (well, except Sebastian Janikowski. Poor Ed).

Reveiz still holds a bunch of records at the University of Tennessee. This earned him a selection in the 1985 draft. Mind you, it was in the 7th round by Miami (when the draft was still 12 rounds). Not like Sebastian Janikowski who was drafted in the first round. Aww… Poor Ed.

Most people reading this will know of Fuad Reveiz for one reason. No, no, no – not because he held the consecutive field goals made record for awhile. No, no, no – not because he was an All-Pro in 1994. The reason is that Reveiz was in the original Tecmo Bowl as the kicker for the Dolphins.

Now Fuad is a TV whore with his home remodeling and his work on ESPN Desportes. He is in no danger of being deported. Unlike Sebastian Janikowski. Aww… Poor Ed.
